What kind of place is the BCM?
We seek to be, both literally and figuratively, a place of refuge, of truth, and of challenge.
Everyone needs a safe place, a place to get away. We want to be that place. Come here to escape from institutional buildings, from people who treat you like you’re ignorant because you believe the Bible, from words and images and attitudes that pollute your soul.
We know that there is such a thing as Absolute Truth. His name is Jesus. While our understanding of Him may grow and change, Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He takes the initiative to reveal Himself, His purposes, and His ways. Jesus is the Truth who sets us free.
Jesus loves us just the way we are, but He loves us too much to let us stay that way. BCM is a place where you will be challenged – challenged to search the Scriptures, to love God with your mind, to live a life of purity, to do things you’re never done, and to go places you’ve never been.
This is the BCM logo. It means something. The inward and outward arrows represent a balanced life and ministry of inward spiritual growth and outward service. The five white arrows stand for Bible study, discipleship, fellowship, stewardship, and churchmanship. The five black arrows stand for enlistment, evangelism, ministry, missions, and international student ministry.
Not Youth Group Part II
BCM is a student-led organization. Students make the plans, carry out the programs, and determine the direction of BCM. We are intentional about developing leaders.
Not a Substitute for Church
BCM encourages students to be a part of a church that has old people and young children, carry-in dinners and business meetings. Being part of a community of college students is sweet, but God desires even more than that for us.
Holy and Hilarious!
You’ll hear those words a lot at BCM. This is who we want to be. How about you?
