H2O Terre Haute + BCM:
A Vision for Campus Transformation
BCM is growing and so is our vision.
For over 50 years, the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) at Indiana State University has been a faithful presence on campus, helping students encounter Jesus, grow in their faith, and become lifelong disciples.
That mission hasn’t changed. It’s expanding.
This fall, BCM is partnering with the H2O Church Planting Network and Marshall Baptist Church to launch H2O Terre Haute — to bring a student-focused church onto the campus - taking the church on mission into the place students live, eat and study. Our partners will help us bring a multi-generational worship opportunity into the mission field. This will provide a unique opportunity for our local church partners to continue to love and serve alongside us, with brand new pathways to make it happen. If you love college students you will have a chance to join us on mission like never before.
🟠 This church is not replacing BCM, Tuesday nights aren't going away, and neither are our partnerships with local churches, everything is growing!
🟠 It’s a new expression of the same mission: Reaching students. Making disciples. Growing leaders. Sending devoted followers into the world engaged in God's mission!
💬 Why H2O Terre Haute?
-
The Missing Link: Part of our heart for BCM has always
-
Stronger Community: A church provides deeper pastoral care, Sunday worship, and continuity across an entire college life.
-
Expanded Reach: H2O will connect with unchurched and de-churched students who might never walk into a ministry event — but might walk into a church.
-
Strategic Mission: Through our partnership with H2O Network and MBC, we gain experience, resources, and a long-term vision for multiplying churches on college campuses.
-
Mission Launching: Many students who feel called to missions face barriers without SBC church membership. H2O creates new pathways to IMB, NAMB, and beyond.

What’s Not Changing vs. What’s New?
What’s Not Changing.
• BCM continues as a vital campus ministry at ISU, Rose-Hulman, Ivy Tech & SMWC.
• The BCM House remains a hub for discipleship, leadership & community.
• Students will still be equipped, empowered, and sent.
What’s NEW.
• H2O Terre Haute will launch Sunday worship this fall.
• A new church leadership team will serve students alongside BCM staff.
• New outreach and spiritual formation opportunities will multiply.
▸ Is BCM ending?
No. BCM will continue to serve students across ISU, Rose-Hulman, St. Mary of the Woods, and Ivy Tech. H2O Terre Haute expands our mission — it doesn’t replace it.
▸ Why start a church if we already have BCM?
H2O provides what BCM alone cannot: weekly Sunday worship, consistent pastoral care, and a broader spiritual community. Together, they form a complete discipleship model.
▸ What happens to the BCM building?
It will remain a central hub for student ministry. Small groups, discipleship, meals, and outreach will continue — and H2O may also use the space during the week.
▸ What is H2O Church?
H2O is a network of churches planted on college campuses across the Midwest. Their mission is to reach students with the gospel and equip them to lead in the Church and the world.
▸ Who is leading this new church?
A team of experienced leaders — including some long connected to BCM — is planting H2O Terre Haute. They’ll work closely with BCM staff to serve and disciple students.
▸ How will this impact my giving?
Your continued giving to BCM will still support student discipleship and outreach. There may also be new opportunities to give directly toward the H2O launch.
▸ How can I help?
-
Pray for students, leaders, and our partner churches.
-
Give to BCM or the H2O launch initiative.
-
Share this vision with others who care about the next generation.
⚠️
What If We Do Nothing?
A crisis is looming — not from catastrophe, but from missed opportunity.
Our culture is fractured. Students are spiritually hungry. Mental health is at crisis levels. But this isn’t just a problem. It’s a divine opening.
“What will happen if a generation of college students says yes to Jesus?”
Without bold moves, our existing churches won’t be ready. But H2O Terre Haute is designed for this moment — a flexible, scalable way to disciple students toward missional, purpose-filled lives.
If we do nothing? We leave a generation wandering, orphaned, and exiled — bound to comfort, distracted from purpose.
But if we plant now — with students and for students — we create a movement that could shape the Church for decades.
🟠 God is moving. Will we move with Him?
